Additionally, your sponsorship will provide you with exposure to over 3,500 DogFest attendees through logo placement at DogFest, website links from the DogFest sponsors page, and listings on DogFest printed materials. A listing of all
sponsorship opportunities and benefits are outlined on the following pages. In short, your
sponsorship will tell people that you care about saving precious lives!
DogFest is our largest fundraiser and community event. The event will take place on our 365-acre property at 1601 Nicodemus Road, Reisterstown, Maryland on Saturday, September 16, 2017, from 10:00am-4:00pm. Last year we welcomed over 3,500 animal lovers to this unique event, which encourages individuals and families to enjoy a day full of games, contests, activities, food and FUN!
Dogs will be able to play in our swimming pool and sand pit, participate in exciting games and contests, including a Costume Contest, juried by a panel of celebrity judges. In addition, there are vendors, food trucks, rescue groups with adoptable pets, and Mary Swift Photography will be on hand once again to lead our “Best of the Fest” photo contest, the winners of which will be printed in the Baltimore Sun newspaper.
Our DogFest Walk-A-Thon fundraising walk also takes place at DogFest, from 10:00am-12:00pm, with prizes for the top fundraising individual and top fundraising team.
The Baltimore Humane Society (BHS) operates a no-kill shelter on 365 acres in Reisterstown, Maryland, which provides a temporary home, safe refuge, and loving care for unwanted and homeless animals. Since its founding in 1927, BHS has found devoted forever homes for hundreds of thousands of wonderful animals, as well as provided low-cost Spay/Neuter and Vaccination services to the community in our Veterinary Center. In
addition, the Baltimore Humane Society Memorial Park, on the grounds of BHS, provides a peaceful final resting place for beloved pets. Finally, the remaining 343 acres of the BHS campus serve as a protected wildlife sanctuary.
Over the past year, we have developed a number of new programs including a Read to the Animals program for children, and a partnership with Stella Maris for our shelter pets to provide therapeutic visits to their long term care residents. As part of our new Shelter Intervention initiative designed to keep families together, we opened a pet food bank, and began offering behavior and training consultations. We have also introduced a number of new enrichment protocols, playgroups, and other programs designed to enhance shelter pets' mental and physical health while they stay with us.
